Conocer Future Tense in Castilian Spanish

The Future Tense of Conocer is used to express actions that will take place in the future. For example, Conoceré a tu nueva novia mañana. (I will meet your new girlfriend tomorrow.)

Usage of Conocer in the Future Tense

Conocer generally means “to know” or “to be acquainted with”, but has several different meanings in the Future Tense, some of which might surprise you.

To meet someone for the first time: for example, Conoceré a mi nueva compañera de cuarto mañana. (I will meet my new roommate tomorrow.)

To experience something new: for example, El año que viene conoceremos la vida en otra ciudad. (Next year we will experience life in another city.)

To be familiar with a place or subject: for example, Cuando vayamos de vacaciones, conoceremos bien la cultura local. (When we go on vacation, we will become well acquainted with the local culture.)

To have sexual relations with someone (slang): for example, Juan dice que conocerá a esa chica guapa este fin de semana. (Juan says he will get to know that pretty girl this weekend, if you know what I mean.)
