Acordar Subjunctive Mood in Latin American Spanish

The presente de subjuntivo of acordar is used to express desires, doubts, or uncertainties about agreeing or remembering something, for example: Espero que acuerdes ir a la fiesta conmigo. (I hope you agree to go to the party with me.)

This is a stem-changing verb, where the “o” changes to “ue” in all subjunctive forms except nosotros and vosotros.

The present subjunctive of acordar is used to express desires, doubts, emotions, and hypothetical situations.

To agree or decide: For example, Es importante que acordemos las reglas antes de empezar. (It’s important that we agree on the rules before starting.)
