Usage of Ir in the Future Tense

Ir generally means “to go”, but has several different meanings in the Future Tense, some of which might surprise you.

To go (literal): For example, Iré a la playa mañana. (I will go to the beach tomorrow.)

To leave: For example, Me iré de la fiesta temprano. (I will leave the party early.)

To become: For example, ¿Adónde irás a estudiar? (Where will you go to study? / Where will you become a student?)

To lead (to a place): For example, Este camino irá a la ciudad. (This path will lead to the city.)

To suit (clothes): For example, Ese vestido te irá muy bien. (That dress will suit you very well.)
