Usage of Jurar in the Future Tense

Jurar generally means to swear or vow, but has several different meanings in the Future Tense, some of which might surprise you.

To swear an oath: for example, Juraré decir la verdad (I will swear to tell the truth).

To make a solemn promise: for example, Te juraré que nunca más te mentiré (I will swear to you that I will never lie to you again).

To affirm strongly: for example, Te juraré que es cierto (I will swear to you that it’s true).

To curse (vulgar): for example, ¡Juraré como un marinero si no me pagas! (I will curse like a sailor if you don’t pay me!).

To insist firmly: for example, Te juraré que estuve allí (I will insist to you that I was there).
