The Conditional Mood of mantener is used to express hypothetical situations or possibilities in the future, for example: Si tuvieras más tiempo, mantendrías un jardín. (If you had more time, you would maintain a garden.)

Mantener is a stem-changing verb, meaning the vowel in the stem changes in certain conjugations. For the Conditional, the e changes to ie in all forms except nosotros and vosotros.
