Usage of Parar in the Future Tense

Parar generally means to stop or halt something, but has several different meanings in the Future Tense, some of which might surprise you.

To stop an action: For example, Pararé de fumar el próximo año. (I will stop smoking next year.)

To stop moving: For example, El tren parará en la próxima estación. (The train will stop at the next station.)

To stand up or get up (colloquial): For example, ¿Pararemos a saludar a nuestros amigos? (Shall we stand up to greet our friends?)
