The presente de subjuntivo of practicar is used to express wishes, desires, or uncertainty about an action, for example: Espero que practiques español todos los días. (I hope you practice Spanish every day.)

This verb follows the -car to -que spelling-changing conjugation pattern, where the c changes to qu before the endings are added.

To engage in (an activity, often illicit): for example, Espero que no practiques el contrabando (I hope you don’t engage in smuggling).
