Usage of Vender in the Subjunctive Mood

Vender generally means “to sell”, but has several different meanings in the Subjunctive Mood, some of which might surprise you.

To sell (literally): For example, Aunque venda su casa, no tendrá suficiente dinero. (Even if he sells his house, he won’t have enough money.)

To betray or deceive: For example, No me vendan ustedes la moto. (Don’t try to deceive me.)

To reveal or disclose (informal): For example, Si venda los secretos de la empresa, lo despedirán. (If he reveals the company’s secrets, they will fire him.)
